I am experiencing a problem with permissions on a network share subfolder. I
have a network share which all users had full control of. I attempted to
modify the security settings on a subfolder of this share so that only
certain users could modify the subfolder’s contents. Upon doing so everyone
(even domain administrators) lost access to the subfolder. Upon losing
access I was unable to open the contents of the subfolder and unable to apply
further security settings to that subfolder. After the problem occurred I
reset all permissions so that the original (everyone – full control) to see
if that would solve the problem. However, Upon attempting to reset the
permissions I received the error message “Error applying security settings.
Access is denied”.

Could anyone please help me understand how to fix this? Thanks.
