Settng the "modem machine" as a Proxy in IE doesn't mean anything if the
machine is not a "proxy". Putting a modem in it and wanting to use to to
provide Internet access is not "making" it a proxy. A "proxy" is a specific
Server Application that has to be installed, configured, and running on the
machine..., that is what makes it a proxy.
You need to make it more clear how it was setup before and how it is setup
now. There are hudreds of possibilities and I would be guessing for days and
days if I don't have a clear understanding of what you are working with.
