 In IE, select Tools-> Internet Options -> connections check out the
settings there and remove any references to the wireless card you removed.

Check your network applet in Control Panel. Remove any references to
the wireless card you removed there. Go into the properties of the card
still installed choose networking. highlight TCP/IP , click properties.
Then choose Obtain an TCP/IP address automatically and Obtain a DNS
server address automatically.

I am using XP, so your steps may be somewhat different.
