When you make a VPN connection to a DC, it acquires an extra IP address
(for the VPN end point), so it becomes multihomed. Multihomed browsers have
been a pain since NT.
There are two approaches. Either disable Netbios over TCP/IP on the RRAS
interface (which requires a registry change) or put the remotes in their own
subnet (which requires enabled IP routing on the server and may require
extra routing info on the LAN). See KB 292822 and 830063 .
