If you are using a sit to site VPN, the two sites must be in different
IP subnets for the intersite routing to work.
You should be able to set up your server at the "home" site, then move
it to the remote site. Operations over VPN can be slow! Also check out the
sites options in Active Directory to minimise traffic across the link.
