Hi Bill, Heres what I was able to find out. I left the vpn connection
connected all night last night. When I woke up, Guess what?.... My
network places was populated with all remote computers. so we know at
least everything is basicly setup correctly.
The problem is it must take hours for this population to occur. The
master browser is the pdc,all workstations on the lan have browser
service set to manual to prevent elections. but if i try this on the
vpn client i get an error "cannot accsess network you may not have
rights..." so i assume the browser service on my vpn clients must be
left on automatic.
I see the problem as a browsing one at this point, So how can i speed
up My network places population. wins and dns are entered in my vpn
connections tcpip properties. my vpn server is also the wins, dns
server. lan is 192.168.0.x
vpn is 192.168.1.x again it looks like everthing is perfect execpt the
time it takes to populate my network places.
thanks again
