Easiest way is to go by a
Linksys EtherFast 4-Port Cable/DSL Router
Model: BEFSR41
It is currently on sale at best buy for 49.99 You hook that to your cable
modem and it has an IP adress for you. Has built in DHCP,Nat routing etc...
Has 4 ports with a cross over cable an another switch/hub you could hook
more than 4 computers. That is currently how i Hook 6 computers to 1 cable
modem. With port forwarding I can setup a server behind the linksys that
the internet can get to for specific games like fs2004. No strange configs
on severs, dual nics etc.. Just a easy to manage box with a web interface.
