Hello All,

I have a situation on a windows 2k pro that is very perplexing. The setup is as follow:

  a.. user logon a domain
b.. connects to a share that is located on a unix box
c.. connection fails wither error of wrong username or password
d.. This failure only happens for this specific user id (called it userA) and on this specific windows 2k pro machine
e.. If another username and password is used on this windows 2k pro machine, success.
f.. If the specific user, userA, logs into another windows 2k pro machine with the exact configuration (meaning having the same application installed and in the same domain) and connect to this unix share, success.
I have tried the following scenarios and failed:
a.. clear the cache (deleting all temp files)
  b.. deleted the user's profile
c.. log into the workstation with another user id and connect to the share using userA's id and password
d.. changing the username and password for this user so that the credential for logging into the domain and the unix share is the same
e.. i have tried to enable the plaintextpassword in the registry
f.. i have re-run the setup program in windows 2k pro
Anyone have any suggestions I can try? All comment is appreciated.

Regards,

Diana
