--->Morgan... I'm not sure we're on the same "page" ....
--->I have a new server running Win2003 enterprise. It is set up as the
--->first DC running AD, DNS, DHCP. (named CCENTRE1)
--->I had an old server that was a second DC. It also had AD, DNS, DHCP.
--->(named CCENTRE2) It was quite old and underpowered. It was running
--->Win2000 server.
--->The 2 servers were sync'd and configured that way for redundancy.
--->I demoted CCENTRE2 and removed it from the domain and removed the
--->entire box .... it's now sitting in storage.
--->I took another old server that was in better condition...wiped it
--->clean, installed Win2000 server, named it CCENTRE2, gave it the same
--->IP's as the previous ccentre2, promoted it to a DC, installed AD.
--->It is now the 2nd DC and operating in sync (AD) with the 1st DC
--->(ccentre1)
--->I now want to setup DNS and DHCP on ccentre2 so that I am basically
--->back to where I was except I will now have a fresh installation of
--->Win2000 in a better box.
--->As per what you said, DNS should be ok... what about DHCP?
--->Do I export the database from ccentre1 and import it to ccentre2 when
--->I install DHCP on it??
--->If that's the case, are there any issues exporting a DHCP database
--->from Win2003 and importing to Win2000?
--->Thanks a bunch for your assistance.
