RE: Migration Batch File

Hi,

Thanks for posting here.

From your description, I understand you want to create a batch file to
backup user's data, such as .pst file, driver file etc and perform some
configuration job, such as disabling offline file etc.

This post appears to be a script issue. Please note Windows Server
Migration newsgroup mainly focuses Windows Server side migration issues.
I'd like to suggest you post script related questions to our MSDN queue.
The engineers and communities there are more specialized in creating script
and will assist you in a more efficient manner.

user password through script)

What I want to achieve is to create a batch file that will prepare a PC
for a new server migration.

What I would like the batch file to do is:

• Reset local administrators password - predetermined
• Copy user files, Outlook data (pst, pab) etc to old domain
• Copy driver files (For backup purposes)
• Change configurations such as Offline Files disabled and Remote
Desktop enabled etc etc

I realise that some of this can be done via GPO but would still like
the ability to do it via batch file.

So the end result would be a backup of the user settings so a domain
change could be done then pull data off old server back into new
profile that would have been created.

Currently it is a long slow process to manually do this and must admit
haven’t been able to put the amount research into this that it
deserves.

I envision that this would significantly decrease that amount of manual
‘labour’ required at each individual PC. As it would be run
batch file off USB and walk away to start on another PC.

There are probably quite a few of these out there but I don’t
seem to be able to find any or that they don’t quite do all that
I want to do.

Thanks in advance.
