KJ,

did try all those, but problem still exists. Unable to access server

running and you can authenticate yourself to the machine.

A wealth of helpfull information. <g> Are there any errors or warnings in
the event logs of this machine?

Perhaps clear the event logs, reboot the machine clean, and retry the
migration. Then examine the event logs for relevant entries.

Perhaps have a look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839880/en-us
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929493/en-us

...and there is a setting to increase the agent logging level. I'll try to
find it.

You've covered all the requirements as I recall them. Suggest examining
the
log file on the failed workstation(s) for additional information from the
migration agent. Short of that, I don't think I have anything else to
add.
Good luck.

Also the workstation must be able to resolve the names in the

Usually by configuring a forwarder in the source domain DNS server
to
forward to the target domain DNS servers.

Windows Firewall and any third party firewalls must not block
traffic
particularly file and print sharring.

Hello Vicent

computer migration seems tedious. Everything works in my
existing
sceneiro, I migrated 20000 users /pwd and other groups etc.
No
problem
but when I am migrating computers i always get stuck. I can
join
manually to the new domain but not with ADMT migration tool.
This
is
what i get error message.

ERR2:7666 Unable to access server service on the machine
'tb30'.
Make
sure netlogon and workstation services are running and you
can
authenticate yourself to the machine. hr=0x800706ba. The RPC
server
is
unavailable

DNS is in place, used domain admin account to migrate. trust
in
place
(validate again again), all services are running in
workstation
such
as
netlogin, workstation services and RPC /RPC locator.

My clients are XP professional. I guess it should not
matter.!!
I
have
about 1500 computers, if i have to join the domain manually
it
will
take me whole week. Any suggestion would be appericiated.

Anil

Hi,

First, I'd like to confirm that if you had followed the Kb
Article
260871to
migrate the users and Computers account to 2003 Domain.

From the error message, it could be aproblem with Name
resolution
.
Can
you
access any shares from 2003 domain to nt domain? Do you use
DNS
or
Wins
to
resolve the domain name of Nt?

Check following article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/180094/en-us

to write an Lmhosts file for domain validation and other
name
resolution

I am trying to migrate a computer from NT4 to Windows
Server
2003
using
ADMT3.0. In some computers I keep getting the following
message:
ERR3:7075
Failed to change domain affiliation, hr=8007054b The

Any idea?
