RE: Netware files to 2003 Storage Server

Hi,

I believe the FMU (File Migration Utility) does this.

=File Migration Utility=

The File Migration Utility (FMU) is an add-on utility included in Services
for NetWare 5 that provides a central management console to automatically
manage the migration of files from NetWare file and print servers to
Windows 2000 Servers. The file migration utility helps customers migrate
their NetWare files to a Windows 2000 Server by:

* Accelerating the migration process.
* Preserving file security information.
* Simplifying migration management.

Migration can be a time-consuming task that is typically performed manually
or with expensive third party tools. The File Migration Utility reduces the
time and cost of migration by copying multiple NetWare files to one or more
Windows 2000 Servers automatically.
The File Migration Utility also copies those files while preserving the
permissions and ACLs associated with each file. Through granular mapping
support and integration with MSDSS, files and the rights they have
inherited or been assigned in NetWare are calculated and maintained in the
Windows 2000-based network, preserving security and minimizing the
time-consuming process of reassigning file rights and permissions.

| So we have been a dual shop for some time. Running both AD and
| eDirectory. Users exist in both locations. User Groups though are
| very differnet. A user logs into thier workstation though Netware
| Client and athentiates to the AD as well.
|
| We are now moveing all our file structure over to a Windows 2003. I
| could move all files, but I would loose ownership and security. How
| can I easily move over the file / directory structure from the Netware
| server over to the new Windows server. I don't mind working on some of
| the security, but don't want to have to redo it all.
|
| Thanks in advance,
