Hello Paul,
From your post, I think the folders containing roaming profiles have incorrect permissions. Havethese folders been migrated to a new domain member server? If not, I suggest you perform this
migration, to see if the problem occurs.
If this problem still occurs, I suggest you refer to the following steps to fix:
1. Log onto the server as the Administrator.
2. Take ownership of the folder (and contents) containing the problem profile.
3. Propagate permissions down from the parent folder on this folder.
4. Assign ownership of the folder and contents back to the user.
