Authentication issues after upgrade

I am having a problem with some authentication, possibly related to a
trust.
I have a root domain with two domains below it.
Domain A has an External non transitive trust to Domain B
Domain A had two windows 2000 domain controllers in it. I upgraded 1 to
windows 2003.Before upgrading the second we shut down the leftover
win2k DC and test
the environment.
Any function requiring pre authentication doesn't work? I can RDP to
the box. Ping the box by IP or name, but if i try to connect to a share
or use R Admin to connect to the box it fails. Its like the request
goes
to "cyberspace" or something as you never get an error on the screen or
in
any of the event logs. The machine in domain B accessing domain A is
behind
an internal firewall. Did something change in 2003 in pre
authentication that
might cause the firewall to need to be changed? I am thinking it is DNS
or
trust related.
Before I upgrade the second DC I would like to resolve the problem.
Any thoughts? What other info do you need?
