hello,

I have two domain controllers in 2000 AD mode. I've recently added
2003 server and did upgrade the AD to 2003 and dcpromo. No errors on
the process. but, i have following symptoms and I can't move the
master role to new 2003 AD server

1. sys vol doe not appear on new 2003 server
2. dns event log has 4000 4013 error - The DNS server was unable to
open the Active Directory

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316685/en-us

3. directory service event log has 1925 error -The attempt to
establish
a replication link for the following writable directory partition
failed.

http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/7fcaa311-bc19-479d-9a4e-179704dfe08f1033.mspx?mfr=true

4. application log as 1053 error - Windows cannot determine the user
or
computer name. (Access is denied. ). Group Policy processing aborted.

http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1053&eventno=1584&source=Userenv&phase=1

any idea? Do i need to manually config DNS server?
normally not. It should replicate automatically if your ip configuration is set ok.

Please post an ipconfig /all from the new 2003 dc that we can see your settings.
