Re: Printer server redundancy

The suggestion to configure clustered printer servers is OK however I
think we'll solve the problem other way. We will add printers to client
computers twice, once from first server, once from second server. When
one print server will be down clients will print to printers configured
from second print server.

That article specifically refers to windows 2003. I can't find an
equivalent one for W2K. Can you post a link? TIA.

Hi,

I think you'd better to build a cluster for the printer server.

Hope this helps.

I'll appreciate your understanding that our migration newsgroup mainly
focus on the process of migration resource between domains. For your issue,
I think following newsgroup would be more approprate if you need further
assistance:

Thanks.

Here is our situation. We have alot of network printers which were
added to our Windows 2000 print server (SP4) and are shared from there.
Also they are listed in Active Directory. What would be the best way to
establish print server redundancy? For example if our print server
computer is down, I would still like to allow out clients to print to
network printers.
I learned about the Microsoft Print Migrator tool and it works very
well however is there a way to "switch" clients to use another print
server (with exactly the same printers defined) if primary print server
goes down?
