Hi,
I'd like to suggest you dis-join the computer out of domain and re-join
into domain.
In addition, what 's the OS version on the Workstation?
Best regards,
Vincent Xu

Hi Vincent,
thanks for your help. I have managed to migrate my groups and users but
the
users home folder has changed..
Worse than that I cannot give my users the privileges that they
require.
I have moved a single workstation into the new domain. Now I need to
add one of the
domain groups to a local group on the WS:
1) If I try to manage the WS from the 2003 server, I get the error:
ws cannot be managed. The network path was not found.
Yes I have disabled the firewall completely on the ws.
2) If I try to do it on the workstation, I cannot select any domain
objects. The domain is not listed in the Locations, even though I am
logged onto the domain as Administrator and there are already domain
groups listed as members of local groups.
Initially, the domain was listed in the Locations but the first time I
tried to add a domain group to the local group, I got an error about
the domain not being accessible (or some such).
cheers

Hi,
I'd like to suggest you perform a test:
1. Create a new group at NT side. Let us call it Group 1
2. Create a new user and add it to Group 1.
3. Add the new user into Group 1
4. Migrate the group 1 & migrate the new user. Note, please don't use
rights.mode but migrate it.
5. Paste the entire ADMT log here.
For your question, if you complete the computer migration & security
translation as the KB article said, the Home folder will not changed. I
hope you have read following article:

Thanks.

Hi,
I'm trying to migrate my users from a Windows NT domain to 2003 Server
using the Active Directory Migration Tool v2.0.
I transferred the user groups first (as per the instructions).
But when I try to transfer the user accounts (trial only), I keep
getting the error:
WRN1:7352 Failed to add LDAP://blah to CN=User Group1. RC=800050008:
One or more parameters are invalid. That is, the user account can be
created but the user cannot be added to any of the migrated groups.
What am I doing wrong?
Secondly, once I have transferred all my PCs into the new 2003 domain,
will users still have the same home directory on each PC?
cheers
Russell
