Hi,
It is totaly no problem to add the Windows Server 2003 as memeber server in
Windows 2000 AD.
If you want to add it as DC, please check following article:

Can you place a new windows 2003 server into an existing 2000 Domain
controller envrionment. If so what steps do you need to follow? what
