Hi,
The plan is to take the NT4 PDC offline. Promote the NT4 BDC to NT4 PDC.
Bring the old NT4 PDC (Server1) back on line an it then becomes the BDC.
you need to promote the BDC to a PDC first.
Then your original PDC (server1) is automaticly a BDC.
After this, you can take the server1 offline.
Upgrade the NT4 PDC (server2) to Windows 2003 AD. At this point can the NT4
BDC remain on the network ?
Yes, the server1 can remain.
But if you upgrade your NT-PDC, you must be
choose at one Point the Domainfunction Level
"Windows Server 2003 Interim".
In this Level, it is allowed to have NT-Domain Controllers.
