Hi,

Performed some research: Try to change the object input file to contain
the
target samaccount name with "$" to see if it works.
Object input file:
sourceName,targetRDN,targetsam,targetUPN
svc-3$,,rensvc3$

Thanks.

I have isolated my problem. It is the use of an include file that
specifies
a computer name change. If I only specify the source name, i have no
problems. If i use the insert file and specify TARGETSAM or TARGETRDN,
it
gives the error.:

2006-06-21 23:14:53 Changed computer name to MIG_PC01
2006-06-21 23:14:55 ERR3:7075 Failed to change domain affiliation,
hr=800706fb The security database on the server does not have a
computer
account for this workstation trust relationship.
2006-06-21 23:14:55 Changed computer name to PC01

I used the insert format as described in the ADMT v3 documentation,
which
isnt very descriptive for computer renames.

This is the only piece i can't figure out....your assistance is
appreciated.

IBy the way, I am ignoring the reg and sid errors since they are not
that
important. To answer your questions:

1. - The machine was on and in a logged off state. No reboot occured
and
the
computer name was reverted to the original name as per the log

2. This is a reg key problem....SID translated just fine for all other
functions.

3. DNS is fine....pointing client to target DNS , which forwards to
source
DNS

Hi,

Here are some problems in the log file:

1.

***** Start of Post-check Summary *****
Machine Name Status Message
PC01.SOURCE.COM Not Started
***** End of Post-check Summary *****

Did the PC01 start when you perform machine migration?

2. WRN1:7644 Unable to translate Microsoft Installer
related registry keys from
'S-X-X-XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXX'
to
'S-X-X-XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXX'

I attached a sid2name tool, please verify the first
"S-X-X-XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXX" can be resolved to
friendly
user
name in source domain. Also check if you have migrated this user
account
before.

3. Check the DNS settings. Check if you can ping FQDN of source DC in
target DC

Hello all,
I performed some test computer migrations using ADMT v3. The
migration
completed with errors after each local profile translation.

7644 Unable to translate Microsoft Installer related registry
keys

Any clues?
