Hi,
First, the quickest way is use ghost but noticed that Microsoft will not
support if you used Ghost to dump the HD.
The normal way maybe time consuming:
1. To move shared Files and Folders you can use
FSMT.<http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/upgrading/nt4/tooldocs/msfs
c.mspx> (Only available when you move folders to Windows Server 2003) Or
you can use Robocopy in resource tools.
2. To move normal files and folders, you can just copy them to new HD.
3. To move user profiles you can use USMT
<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4af2d2c9-f16c-4c52
-a203-8daf944dd555&DisplayLang=en>
4. If the computer also acts as other roles, we need to consider it
seperately.
Hope the information helps.
Best regards,
Vincent Xu

Hello,
I have an installation of Win2k Server. The machine that the OS is
installed on has a bad drive. It's been repaired by the disk utility, so
it's operational, but I'd like to move it to a new drive and possibly a
bemachine. I have two questions;
1). What's the easiest way to duplicate the drive? I have Ghost but it
doesn't do NTFS. Is there a better system?
2). If I decide to change machines, how can I prepare W2K for the new
machine? (I tried to do a straight swap many years ago, and remember the
BSoD when I tried it).
If I could even get a link to a good step by step instruction that would
great.
Thanks!
