SID history not working

I'm currently performing a pilot migration of users from one Win2k3
forest to another - both native.

My problem is that I have migrated global groups from the source to
target domain using ADMT running in the target domain. The log says
the groups migrated fine, including the SID history being added.

So then I migrated a test user, then re-migrated the groups just in
case (as is recommended)

The migrated user is part of the correct groups, (which apparantly
succesfully have SID history), but they cannot access any resources in
the source domain

I am totally stuck and cannot see a way forward as there are no errors!

Please help someone!
