| Hello,
|
| I have an NT 4.0 PDC with two NICs in it. Each NIC is on a different
| network. One of the networks the PDC is in control of, there is no DHCP
| set up on the network the PDC controls, and all the addressing is done
| statically. On the network that the NT 4.0 PDC controls there are also
| about 20 point of sale Linux machines. The other side is a server 2003
| network and there is a DHCP pool for some machines. However, some
| things are static including the PDC of the NT 4.0 network.
|
| Here is my problem when ever I need to log into the POS Linux machines
| from my desk which is on the Server 2003 network. I have to use a
| persistence route that I set up on my desktop to see any computers on
| the NT 4.0 network. I thought setting up a route to this network would
| allow me to see everything on the NT 4.0 network, but it does not. I
| can not directly log into the Linux POS machines. I can only see
| computers that the NT 4.0 PDC is aware of in its windows networking
| settings. As a work around I can log into any machine the NT 4.0 PDC is
| aware of, then log into the Lunix machines from that computer.
|
| Why is this, and is there anyway I can change this so I can log into
| the POS Linux machines directly from the server 2003 network?
|
| Thanks,
|
|
