Hello,

Thank you for your reply!

Actually the trust relationship is not a must. It is just for test
purpose.
Based on my test all work fine on my side. I can access the share on a
domain controller from workstations from another domain. The issue seems
weird to me. At this point I suggest you verify if you have any firewall
client/AV applications installed. If so, please uninstall them temporarily
and check the issue. If not, I suggest you enable and apply security
auditing in Windows 2000. You can configure the security logs to record
information about either directory and file access or server events. You
may refer to the following article for detailed information.

How to enable and apply security auditing in Windows 2000
<http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;300549>

Please reproduce the issue and check the related event log after security
auditing is enabled. You may post back the event and I am glad to be of
assistance!

Hope the information helps. If there is anything that is unclear, please
feel free to let me know.

Best Regards,

Jason Tan
