Re: Migration

Thanks a million for your help.

1--how can I install a "AD-integrated DNS on 2k3 ? Does this option
exist during the installation?

Do I have to use ADMT at some point?

When I am done migrating from win2k to win2k3, how do I migrate from
exchange 2000 o 2003 from the same server?

Do I again run /Forestprep and /domainprep ?

2---How can I move Global Catalog to the new server

Thanks again

Hello,

Thanks for posting!

You may refer to the following example.

1. Install Windows 2K3 on a new machine.
2 Make this machine an member server to the existing Windows 2K domain.
3. Run dcpromo and make it a domain controller for the existing domain.
4. Plan your DNS. (You may use integrated-DNS to replicate the original DNS
server).
5. Move all FSMO rolls to the new domain controller.
6. Move DHCP server.
7. Run dcpromo to demote the existing Windows 2K DC.
