I which it was that simple. :>
Its not a cluster and the source only had a single nic. It was actually
a
desktop class unit uses as a w2k sp4 file and print server. The
destination
server does have dual nics, but is not in a cluster. The server does
have
W2K3 R2.

I have used the tool to move files successfully to this server so I think
its the source and not the host. It seems to me that it may be a
character
used in the paths that can't be parsed. Is that possible?

Are there any other test I can try?

Tks
Derek

Hi,

Pleaes check if you have multiple NIC. If you do have, please uncheck
File
and Print sharing and client for Microsoft on unnecesssary NIC.

Based on my research, it seems to this issue often happened on cluster
server, does this accord with your situation? If you try to migrate
shared
folder to a cluster server, it seems to be a bug and it was fixed in
Windows 2003 R2.

Hi Vincent.

I tried this on another server. Windows 2000 SP4 Member server
and I
get
the
same error as stated in the above post.

Is it having issues with a special character in a file or folder
path.
Our
users user & in many folder and file names.

Is there plans for a new updated version of this tool. When it
works
its
great. We have 500 G of data to copy and this tool would make
live
much
easier.

PS. I sent the logs as requested, but did not receive a
response.

Tks
Derek

I'm trying to migrate 22G of data from a Windows2000 SP4 DC
to a
Windows2003
SP Member server.

This server is not in a cluster. It does attach to an iscsi
san.
I
have
migrated other data to this server in the past and can
migrate
test
data
from
this DC.

The source share:PCLFiles located on D:\PCLFiles migrating to
I:\PCLFiles\PCLFiles-PPI-District-Office with a share of
PCLFiles-PPI-District-Office

There are 2 nested shares: Homedirs and scanjobs.
