RE: NT to 2K3 migration

Hello,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

For your situation, I would like to provide some my points for your
reference:

1. You may install Windows NT SP6a on the three new servers.
2. Upgrade the one server to PDC and two others to BDC. The old NT SP6a PDC
will downgrade to BDC.
3. Upgrade the new PDC to Windows Server 2003.
4. Migrate all user files are stored from the old NT SP6a PDC to the new
Windows Server 2003 PDC.
For more information, you may refer to this article:

5. On the second new server, you may upgrade to Windows Server 2003 and
install Exchange 2003. And then you may migrate from your existing Exchange
5.5 to Exchange 2003. For more information, you may refer to:

6. You may migrate from the old file server to Windows Server 2003 file
server.

| Would like to ask your opinion as to the best route that we should
undergo to
| perform an upgrade.
|
| Here is our current setup:
| 1 NT SP6a PDC (where all user files are stored)
| 1 NT SP6a BDC with Exchange 5.5
| 1 NT SP6a BDC (file/back up server)
|
| We purchased three new servers to replace the existing ones along with
| Exchange 2K3. All servers do not have any OS installed on it, and thus we
| will be starting from scratch. What is the best way in order for the
| migration to take place. Thanks in advance for your help.
