wait a minute guys... I just came across this newsgroup and I'm glad to see
people discussing my nightmares...
my problem, and hopefully an easy problem for you guys with more knowledge
on the subject, is that sometimes I can see the list of computers/servers on
the network (one single subnet network) thru My Network Places->Entire
Network->Microsoft Windows Networks and sometimes I can't.
I have 2 DCs (windows 2003 Ent. Ed. w/ SP1), one member server (2003 ent.
ed. w/ SP1 as well) and 10 to 12 workstations, all XP Pro w/ Sp2 with the
firewall feature manually disabled on all of them.
On my DC1, I have forced it to always be the Domain Master Browser by doing
the registry hack. This DC1 also holds the 5 FSMO roles, DNS, DHCP, GC and it
is also the VPN server. My logs are crystal clear.
On my DC2, also DNS, GC, I get the 8032 error in my system log. I get it
every 2 hours or so and I just can't seem to be able to fix. NetBIOS over
TCP/IP is enabled in the entire domain.
On my member server, I also get the same 8032 error. On my workstations, I
never get the error. And, again, sometimes I lose the browse list in all my
workstations and on my DC2 and on my member server, and sometimes (most of
the times) I can browse. It also seems that I can ALWAYS browse from the DC1
which has the PDCe, is the domain master browser, etc.
Sometimes, when I can't browse, I get errors when I ttry to get the list by
going to My Network Places. Errors are "the domain is not accessable, the
path wasn't found, etc etc etc.
Please help me.
