Re: Workstation Migration

Hello Jason,

Thanks for you advise. But I am going to become crazy on migrating user
profile on workstation. In fact, we create user accounts on win2k3 domain
manually by csvde.exe. Therefore sid on NT4 will be gone and a new sid will
be created for Win2k3 domain.

If my logical thinking is correct, when I use "Copy to:" function for
copying a profile from user_A.NTdomain to user_A.Win2k3domain, then Win2k3
domain cannot identify the profile of user_A.NTdomain, since they are
different sid.

But the interesting thing is, if I grant user_A to become a Domain Admin in
Domain Controller, user_A profile can work good and user_A can get back his
wallpaper, full controller on his account.

If I really need the full controller on user_A's workstation, but retain
user_A has Domain User accessr right and I cannot use ADMT (since my head
office has not given me a Domain Admin right), how can I retain and migrate
the user profile? Thanks Jason.

B.regards,
Wilson
