Hello,
Thanks for posting!
Based on the description, the issue can occur under multiple situations. I
would like to suggest you reconfirm the process of the trust relationship
establish at the first place.
1. Please refer to the following article:
How to establish trusts with a Windows NT-based domain in Windows Server
2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=325874
Note: Please pay attention to use the same trust-password on both sides and
add the name on the correct box on the Trust Tab.
2. Please reconfirm the computer account was enabled. If not, please enable
the computer account and then reboot the computer.
More information for your reference:

2000 or Windows Server 2003 and Windows NT Domains

The DNS suffix of the computer name of a new domain controller may not
match the name of the domain after you install upgrade a Windows NT 4.0
Primary domain controller to Windows 2000.

Hope the information helps. If there is anything that is unclear, please
feel free to let me know.
Thanks & Regards,
Jason Tan
