Hallo
We have an Windows 2000 Server as DC with Enterprise root CA installed. We
now plan to replace this machine with other Hardware and migrate to Windows
2003. The question is now: How can I migrate the root CA to the Windows
2003 Server. Normally you ca find detailed documentations for a lot of tasks
at Microsoft Websites but I can't find anything really helpful to this topic,
except "save and restore". The question is now: HOW? The name of Windows
2003 DC will be the same as the Windows 2000 DC. Actually we plan following
proceeding: Make DCPROMO at the old DC and make him to a memberserver,
rename old DC , give new server the old name and make him to a DC by DCPROMO.
How can I move the CA? If I have to restore the CA, how I must install the
CA before (without installation of the CA no restore)? Many thanks in
advance for each good tip or link.
Hans
P.S. Sorry for my Englsich, I am from Germany ..
.
