Re: how can we migrate 2000 to 2003 without rejoin user to new domain

Hi Melly,

I only have received this one but it is not complete cab file. I found
that I also cannot send my reply to you at melly.kuo@xxxxxxxxxx

It may be caused by the transportation or some settings about mail filter.
Therefore, if the issue persists after you trying my following suggestions,
I hope you can send the complete cab file by using another mail account
such as hotmail account to me at v-amanwa@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Based on your previous error information as following:
2005-05-17 16:54:48 ERR3:7075 Failed to change domain
affiliation,hr=800706fb The security database on the server does not have
a computer account for this workstation trust relationship.

I have performed more research on it and now we need to perform two
important steps:

1. Make sure the 2k clients' DNS point to win2k3 DNS server; you can
reconfigure DHCP in 2k server to assign the DNS settings to win2k3 DNS
server.

2. Use NT\domain admins to logon to the win2k3 DC and then perform the ADMT
migration.

After the computer has been migrated to the win2k3 domain, the client will
receive a message to restart the computer within one minute. Therefore, it
will be better to perform the migration process during the non-business
time to avoid any data loss.

HTH and thanks for your time and patience on this issue!

Thanks & Regards

Amanda Wang [MSFT]
