RE: ADMT Question

Hello,

Thanks for your post.

I understand that you encountered a following error when migrating computer
account:

ERR3:7075 Failed to change domain affiliation, hr=8007054b The specified
domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.

I agree with Shawn that it seems to be a DNS issue.

First, I want to know what the type of source domain is. Then please
perform the following test on your side:

1. Check the connectivity between the source domain and windows 2003 by
pinging with both IP address and netbios name.
2. Check the trust relationship working good.

Please refer to the following article to establish the trust:

Migrating Windows NT to Windows Server 2003 using the Active Directory
Migration Tool

Windows_Server_2003.html

3. Check the Dns on the win 2003 and to see if the forward lookup zone is
configured properly.

For more references about the forward lookup zone:
To add a forward lookup zone
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/advanced/help/default.asp?url=/windo
ws2000/en/advanced/help/sag_DNS_pro_AddForwardZone.htm

4. Correct the DNS and did Net stop netlogon, Ipconfig /flushdns, Ipconfig
/registerdns, Net start netlogon .
5. Check the network adapter tcp/ip setting if it is pointing to the right
dns server.
6. Try to migrate the computer account again.

HTH!

Thanks & Regards
