Re: FSMT Doesn't See Some Source Shares

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the info. Your understanding is correct. We meet all of the
requirements you posted. And the target server and all workstations,
can see the shares through My Network Places that FSMT cannot see.

Any further ideas?

One other piece of evidence that may or may not be important: The
source server started life as an NT Server and was later upgraded to a
Windows 2000 Server. That upgrade caused a "disjointed name space" that
prevented what's now the target server from being promoted to a domain
controller. We eventually fixed that with a simple registry hack on the
source server (after much hassel and confusion). Now both servers do
work jointly as domain controllers. Could this problem be one more
aftershock of the original NT to Win2K upgrade? If so, any clue as to
what we can do about it?

Thankyou,
Robbie
