RE: FSMT Doesn't See Some Source Shares

Hi Robbie,

Thanks for posting!

I understand that you want to use FSMT migrate files from Windows 2000 to
Windows server 2003 however you cannot see the shares on D: on the source
file server. If I have misunderstood your concerns, please feel free to let
me know.

At this moment, I would like to suggest you re-check sharing properties of
D: folder which cannot be showed. If you are able to see these shared
folder in My Network Place on Windows server 2003? Also, you may use "Net
share" command in command-line to check the share status of D:? Are the
shared folder hidden with $ symbol?

I would like to provide you with the following information for your
reference:

System requirements
The target file servers and source file servers that you specify in the
File Server Migration Wizard must meet the following requirements:
# Source file servers must be running Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000
Server, Windows NT Server 4.0, or Windows Storage Server 2003.
# Target file servers must be running Windows Server 2003 or Windows
Storage Server 2003.
# Source and target file servers can be server clusters.
# Target volumes must be formatted with the NTFS file system.
# Source folders must be shared. If you want to migrate folders that are
not shared, you must share them first.

Account requirements
To run the File Server Migration Wizard, you must be a member of the local
Administrators group on the source and target file servers.

Thanks & Regards,
