Hi!
I want to move one of my two DC´s to new hardware. For test I´ve made
an Ghost image and copied it to the new box. Both computers are Dell
with SATA disks and ATI video, so there are only minor differences.
The new box is running now with some exspected errors regarding
network drivers, USB controller drivers etc. But the machine is
running, I can login without problems. If I now install the missing
drivers and the machine runs without errors under same name/IP etc.,
can I connect it to the network without problems?
I´ve found a lot of discussion groups. Everybody says, make a backup
with system state from the old system, install a new system and
restore from backup. Everbody says: Look at
"http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;263532", but
I can´t open the document!
I think, my way is simplier, but has nobody done it? Any experiences?
Stefan
