Thanks for your post.
Regarding your scenario, whether to update your server depends on the
evaluation copy that you used. Generally speaking, what Jupiter said is
true.
You can look at the following article to check the upgrade path. If the
evaluation copy is listed in the chart, the supported path is offered.
