Rebecca,

Thanks for your reaction.

I thought when an OS is preinstalled, the server starts with a wizard where
you can provide server- and domainnam, ipadres. And then you have the option
to istall AD.
Regarding the 2003 CD, i do have a evalution CD of the 2003 server version,
the install files are the same?

You said i don't need to re-join the clients. Clients are all Windows NT4 WS
clients. Planning to install AD client support on them.
I believe when a trust is established between the old and new domain, the
clients have a drop-down box and choose which domain they log-in, correct?
When after testing i remove the trust and the old domain, are the clients
still able to see my new domain?

The solaris server is just a database, the clients have the runtime, which
does user validation. solaris only ftp's to server for dropping files. The
only important is the FTP account the Solaris log's in.

My old domain is domain, servername s-ipm001, can i configure my new domain
as newdomain, servername s-ipm001.
i.e. Domainnames are different, servernames are the same, during the
migration.

I also do have an old Lotus Notes server NT4, a BDC from the old domain,
after migration can i just change domainname on it? Or should i leave the
trust and domain intact, untill they are upgraded later this year.

Thanks in advance.
