Hi,

We carried out a Parallel migration from NT4 to W2K3 which all worked well.

We now have our data in the NT4 domain, and we need to transfer the data
over to the W2K3 file server in the W2K3 domain....there is a trust in
place.

At this stage we will not be using admt to migrate user accounts, but we
will be creating the domain local groups in the w2k3 domain exactly as they
are in nt4 domain, with group memberships etc.
we simply need the nt4 domain users to be able to access the new copied
data/directory tree in the W2K3 domain.

what is the best method to transfer data over to w2k3, whilst keeping all
acl permissions intact.

i know there used to be a util "saveacl & restacl" but we cannot use this
because of an expired copy, so i guess we need to use robocopy "something
which is microsoft and free"

Is it best to create the directory structures (with acl intact) 1st, and
then copy data into it. (approx 300gb data - for w95/NT/w2k & XP clients in
nt4 domain)

how should we do it using robocopy - with correct sysntax as well please.

Regards Ray
