Hi Magnus,

I understand there are two issues, one is that the client cannot logon to
the original domain without BDC runs; the other is Outlook cannot connect
to Exchange.

In order to keep a clear direction on troubleshooting, please post
Exchange-related question to microsoft.public.exchange.admin newsgroup
since they are the experts in Exchange and will provide more information to
help us to narrow down this issue. Please take a screen shot about the
format of "company.corp.com" when you open up a new thread. NOTE: You need
to use OE to upload the screen shot.

Let us focus on the server side issue. Before we go any further, please
help me gather the following info send it to v-rebc@micrsoft.com to clarify
the system configuration, and then we can work to the next stage:

1. Go to %Windir%\debug and send us the following two log files:

DCPROMO.log
DCPROMOUI.log

2. Refer to the following KB to gather the MPSreport, which is for DC :
Overview of the Microsoft Configuration Capture Utility (MPS_REPORTS)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;818742

3. There are many possibilities that client cannot logon to the new 2k3
server. Do you have XP client? If you do, please take the BDC offline,
reproduce this logon and also gather the MPSreport on XP. If possible,
please take a screen shot when XP cannot logon to the domain or let me
known the exact error.

Any update, let us get in touch!

Best regards,

Rebecca Chen
