Newsgroups: microsoft.public.windows.server.migration
Thanks for your reply.
I posted another message if you could look at it. I did not see that
anyone
had responed to my first (even though you had, because I had problems
with
the web interface of this news group and didnt notice it.) however
and I have
since found out some more info. and posted a new question.
By the way ...
If there is anyone listening regarding this web newsgroup interface
set up
I have a few comments.
1. When I try to widen the bars on the web interface so I can see all
the
subject or data on the subject line/or text the whole thing
disappears...
that is when you drag a column any amount to the left or right it
makes the
screen with the news group disappear and you are left with a blank
screen
accpet for the headers of web interface and the Ms Corp Copyright
line ,
terms of use | Tradmarks | Privacy Statement.
When I refresh the screen it all returns.
2. I did some reading on the news group and it says that you can
access it
via NNTP however I have tried looking at my news groups but I cannot
see how
to do this. While I can find many MS news lists such as
microsoft.public.win2000 using my NNTP address, there is none called
microsoft.public.windows.server.migration There seems to be no new
NNTP
address that we can use provided in the MS FAQ that says this is
another way
to access the group. I wanted to do it this way because I know how
to use it
in my news reader rather than this web interface that I cant adjust
the
screen on.
3. An awfull lot of space is taken up by the Icon on the left of my
screen,
"add Windows Server Community to your favorites". About 1/5th of the
screen
is taken up by this Icon. This is one of the reasons the subject
lines are
being squashed and I want to make the columns wider.
4. When I send a message to the news group and at the bottom it asks
me to
put in my user name, I do this but then when I do this it says,
something
like do you want to send it under this name since its not the name
you
registered under. ... Well I think it is the name I registered under
??
Anyway when I say cancel or click X. It sends it anyway rather than
giving me
the option of putting a differnet name in the box ??
I recognize that you are not the one to report this to. I'm only
putting it
here in the hopes that those responsible for the web interface will
see these
issues and investigate. By the way Im using IE 6....1106 on win
2000. ~Thanks
Now back to the issue at hand. I have Put a new question to the group
entitled Dual Boot win 2000 win2003. I would apreciate any comments.
