    Hi Lee,

Thanks for your posting and thanks for mote's reply.

The schema will be replicated to each DC in your domain. Since you have
Exchange 2000 installed in Windows 2000 domain, you need to fix the
"Mangled attibutes" first. Then run adprep to extend the schema.

You can try the following suggestion.

    1. Run InetOrgPersonPrevent.ldf script on the Windows 2000 DC to fix
    Exchange 2000 schema.
    2. Run ADprep command on the Windows 2000 DC to extend the schema.
    2. Add the Windows Server 2003 server to the domain.
    3. Promote to DC
    4. Transfer all the FSMO roles to the new DC

We have just bought a new Dell server that comes with Microsoft Server
2003. This is to replace the old DC running Windows 2000 server.
We want to make the new server the Primary domain controller.

Things are mared by the fact we have another DC with Exchange 2000 on
it. I have looked at the KB on Microsoft about how to fix the
          "Mangled attibutes"

If we managed to set up the new server to be a Primary DC will this
then replicate the newer version of Active Directory to the other DC's
          on the domain?

Can you have the Primary Controller running Server 2003 and the rest
          running server 2000.

          Thanks
