Background:
I work for a school that currently has four different Windows domains
(elementary, middle school, high school, administration). All four
are running off of Windows 2000 servers and sit on different sub-nets.
We want to consolidate domains by migrating users from the four
domains to a single new domain running on a new Windows 2003 server.
The new server is currently sitting on the same subnet as our
administration domain controller.
Problem:
I'm trying to run ADMT on the new domain controller to run a test
migration from our administrative domain to the new domain. When I
launch one of the wizards (say the group account migration wizard), I
can select the source domain and the target domain from the drop down
boxes, but when I click "next" I get an error telling me that the
source domain is not operational. If I try running ADMT on the source
domain, I get an error telling me that the network path was not found.
What I've tried:
I've created and verified a two-way trust between my source and target
domains. I've verified that I have administrator credentials on both
domains. I've set up dns forward look up zones on the source and
target domain controllers. I'm afraid I'm missing something really
obvious. Any suggestions on where to look next would be appreciated.
TIA
