    Thanks for your posting here.

    If you prefer to keep the original domain name, I would like to recommend
    that you perform migration.

    As you mentioned that you got error when running ADprep. What is the
    detailed error message? Please search the ldif.err, schupgr.log, ldif.log,
    schupgr.log files and attach them in your post.

    If you want to build another new Windows 2003 domain, you can try ADMT to
    migrate resources from source domain to the target domain. But you cannot
    use the same computer name and IP in the network. As for share files, you
    can try the File Server Migration Toolkit.

    As for printer, you can try Print Migrator.
