| It took me days to narrow this problem down. Quite a learning experience
in terms of solving hardware conflicts!

After rebooting my machine a zillion times, I discovered the hang was due
to the aspi32.dll driver that was ok with Windows 2000. Thank you for your
encouraging feedback.
