Hello Ash,

Thank you for your post.

My name is Joe Wu, and it is my pleasure to work with you on this issue.

May I know the following information?

1. Where did you install the license server?

2. I would like to suggest that we first focus on the problem of "The file
& print member server has also had issues contacting the license
server...it can now contact the license server, but doesn;t seem to display
the correct cals/domain licensing mode etc". Please let me know which steps
you performed and also post screen shots so that I can better understand
the issue.

3. When did the problem begin to occur?

I look forward to your reply. Thanks!

Regards,
Joe Wu

|Hi
|
|We have domain with 3 x servers. 1 x terminal server/DC win2kserver SP4, 1
x
|SQL member server win2kserver and 1 x file & print member server win2k.
|
|The issue is that the sql server states it cannot contact the licensing
|server on the DC. It has been removed and rejoined to the domain, with no
|effect. This is causing the sql server to thinkit is out of licenses etc
|
|The file & print member server has also had issues contacting the license
|server. It has been removed and rejoined also, and it can now contact the
|license server, but doesn;t seem to display the correct cals/domain
|licensing mode etc
|
|Its like the two servers are somehow detatched (or cannot find) from the
|licesning server (which is bizarre since they join the domain ok)
|
|Other info is that this came about after installing a new DC, which took
|over from the old one. The old one is now not on site but all was migrated
&
|replicated (GC, Domian info users etc) and the old server demoted. all DNS
|entries, AD entries etc for this server have been removed from the new DC.
|
|Any help would be much appreciated!!
|
|Thanks All :)
