I have just backed up a folder from a

Windows server 2003 R2 Standard EDition to a new server

this was done using NTbackup and Symantic backup. I restored the data
onto
the new server and the MSI's will now not work. The security tab is no
longer
appearing in the MSI. This is the same if i restore it to my desktop
machine
'windows xp pro'. One thing i noticed was the old server had ris services
running on it. The old server is no longer available. This doesnt seem to
be
a problem with the backups as the same problem happens when restoring from
older tapes.

This is the message i get when i try to run the msi.

"this installation package could not be opened. Contac the application
vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package".

any help muchly appreciated.
