Re: All the Client not Authenticated from PDC

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hello itxpert,

If the DNS server is also DC they choose most of the times the preferred for authentication. Except this is not available they will use the secondary DNS.

Dear All,
I have two servers one is Windows Server 2000 acting as BDC + DNS and
Other is Windows Server 2003 acting as PDC having 5 FSMO Roles +
DNS...
Mostly my Clients are configured as Preffered DNS Server to be my
BDC... I have checked some clients by command echo %logonserver% and
they show as they are authenticating from my BDC not PDC... Is this
the
effect of Preferred DNS? Should i give my PDC as Preferred DNS or is
there anything wrong thats why all of my Clients are not getting
authenticated from PDC... Some of them do Authenticate from PDC but
majority from BDC...
