It will be back in windows 7, as alternative you can also use the "Copy as path" function:

For the backup, well folder level backup is removed but you can still restore a folder/file with some additional work. Because the backup file is stored in .vhd format you can mount it with Virtual server and copy them back.

Is there a plans for patch or Service Pack for Windows 2008 to have
back
"Drag and Drop to Command Prompt" functionality?
I really missing it.
I am reinstalling (fdowngrading) back to Server 2003 all my Windows
2008 because of the lack of "drag and drop to cmd" and backup
functionality in Windows 2008.
