Re: Log in as user before the account in functional

Permissions were set correctly on the folder to which the scanned files were
being sent.

And yes, I did successfully get them to save to the folder (as per my line
"After that, everything transferred from the Konica to the network without a
problem.") but only AFTER I logged in to a COMPUTER on the network AS the
user 'konica'.

My question is: What is the 'magic' behind logging in to a computer AS the
new user before it can be used as valid credentials for another application?

Seems to be an NTFS permissions issue as to where it is your trying to save
the scanned files to. You said you were "trying" to add the MF printer to
the network. does this imply you successfukly did so or not?

I was trying to add our Konica copier to the network in order to use it as
a
scanner & printer. The scanning portion of the software required a
network
account so I created an Act Dir User for it called 'konica'. Even though
all
the settings within the scanning were correct (login, password, domain,
IPs,
etc.) I couldn't get it to save scanned files to the network UNTIL I
logged
in to a PC AS the user 'konica'. After that, everything transferred from
the
Konica to the network without a problem.

I had a similar scenario once before... but can't remember the details.
The
short of it was that I had to log in to a PC as the user in order for the
application to work with that user account.

I'm sure there's a explanation as to why this is - can someone clue me
in!?
Thanks so much for your time!
